Dec 03, 2024
Iconiq Studios has shared additional insights into Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos, offering a closer look at how the game will compare to previous Tomb Raider titles and what gameplay modes players can expect. In an exclusive reveal, Lifogame presents the first look at the Lara Croft miniature that will be featured in the game.
Set to launch its Kickstarter campaign in late May 2025, Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos will offer fans a detailed miniature of Lara Croft. The figure shows Lara confidently standing atop a column, dual pistols in hand, with a characteristic smile. This first look at the miniature offers a glimpse into the game’s unique design and attention to detail.
This board game adaptation of Tomb Raider is designed to capture the essence of what fans love about the franchise, including exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat. In the game, Lara embarks on a journey to the mysterious island of Kairos, where she seeks an artifact said to control time itself. Along the way, she will face treacherous landscapes, deadly traps, and the familiar threat of Natla Technologies.
The game offers two main modes. The first, Adventure Book Mode, provides a more structured, narrative-driven experience where players follow a series of scenarios. Each mission lasts between 20 and 60 minutes, offering a compact but immersive experience.
For those seeking a more expansive adventure, Campaign Mode delivers a large, open-world island map to explore. This mode offers a free-roaming experience, with randomized locations and missions, ensuring that each playthrough is unique. Campaign Mode takes approximately three hours to complete, offering a deeper, longer experience.
Both modes feature a crafting system, allowing players to collect materials and upgrade their weapons, outfits, and abilities as they progress through the game.
Iconiq Studios has confirmed that Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos is primarily designed for solo play, much like the classic Tomb Raider games. However, it will also allow players to team up with friends to tackle the challenges Lara faces. Although the game centers around one playable character, multiple players can collaborate to solve puzzles and navigate the game’s challenges, working together to achieve the best outcomes.
